ARS International

ARS International is an Alaskan Native Limited Liability Company, Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) and is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Aleut Corporation (TAC), one of the 13 Regional Alaskan Native Corporations.

ARS maintains a family of subsidiary companies with Small Business and 8(a) Certifications. We also maintain a DOD ELAP and DOECAP approved, NELAP certified, internationally recognized, radiological and hazardous materials laboratory.

Since 1993, ARS has provided innovative, cost effective, and safe services to federal, state, and local governments, as well as commercial clients. We are a solution driven Company with considerable experience in both the public and private sectors. As a member of the TAC family of companies, ARS has the resources and bonding capacity to meet our clients’ needs.

Danny Coleman

President

Mr. Coleman possesses over 30 years of technical experience in the management of multimillion-dollar projects in radiological remediation, characterization, and laboratory operations. Currently, as the President of ARS, he is the principal-in-charge of all company activities including finance, infrastructure (HR, inventory management), deployment of resources, contracts and procurement, client relations, and technical management. He is highly experienced in all elements of delivering on large-scale projects and frequently acts as the executive point of contact for large-scale projects further demonstrating his commitment to the projects and corporate success. He possesses 15+ years of experience in subcontract and contractor management, including staffing companies, laboratories, IT service companies, and supply chain vendors. Mr. Coleman earned a Bachelor of Science in Radiation Protection, is a graduate of the US Navy Nuclear Power/Prototype School, and holds NRRPT and OHST Certifications. He is frequently called on to provide emergency deployment support for environmental and hazard clean-up operations as well as supporting emergency disaster support.

Danny overseas a growth platform holding company in support of the Aleut Corporation which comprises six businesses focused in the areas of Environmental Remediation, Hazard Identification and Cleanup, IT and Telecommunications, Infrastructure Security, Vertical and Special Construction, and Staff Augmentation. Danny also served proudly in the US Navy.

Kurt Hodgin

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Hodgin possesses 30 years of financial management experience. As the CFO for ARS International, he is responsible for the corporate finance/accounting teams, HR teams, Risk/Treasury functions that support the operating subsidiaries and joint venture organizations. Prior to joining ARS Kurt was the CFO for RLG Consulting Engineers based in Dallas, TX seeing them through 20% growth throughout the U.S. Previously, he was a former Senior Manager / BAT CFO at DynCorp International. His team managed roughly 45+ active world-wide U.S. Government and commercial contracts which had annual revenues between $650M and $750M. His team was also responsible for the quarterly EAC reviews, the monthly revenue recognition, the monthly accounting close impacting the flash P&L reporting, and the balance sheet reconciliations for the 45+ contracts. Kurt began his career in finance at McDonnell Douglas Aerospace Corporation (now Boeing) in St. Louis, MO. Kurt has also been a Divisional Controller in Technical Operations at American Airlines, and a CFO for a privately-held set of retail companies in Texas. He holds an MBA in Finance and Operations from the John M. Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis, an Industrial Engineering degree from Purdue University, and a Degree in Science from DePauw University.

Steve Martin

Vice President of Construction & Healthcare

Over the past 39 years, Mr. Martin has served in project and program management roles in both the private and federal sectors of the construction industry, to include international and domestic projects ranging from $500K to $1.3B. In his role as Vice President, Mr. Martin manages 2 subsidiaries within the ARS portfolio. During his 26-year tenure at companies such as Bechtel and Fluor, Mr. Martin has worked in the United States, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, China, Indonesia, Belgium, Australia and India. His experience includes successfully managing and delivering projects to companies such as Procter & Gamble, DuPont, AT&T, Philips Semiconductor, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, LSI Logic Corp, GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer, Schering Plough, Carolina Power and Light, Dayton Power and Light, Mississippi Power and Light, and Union Electric. Specific knowledge includes building processes, liaison to regulatory bodies, large-scale personnel management, securing financing, and business development. In the government sector, Mr. Martin has been integral in winning awards at the Pentagon, and with multiple federal agencies such as USACE, NAVFAC, DOS, ASAID, DHS, VA, and GSA. Federal projects range in size from $1M – $250M and vary between short term firm fixed price, as well as long term IDIQ’s and MACC contracts.
Mr. Martin also has experience with all aspects of the life sciences; from pharmaceutical formulations and processes to complex bioprocesses and R&D operations. Further, Mr. Martin has held extensive, in- depth leadership and management roles executing Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) and cost reimbursable contracts. He routinely serves as the subject matter expert for government pursuits.

Darrin Lawrence

Vice President of Remediation, Technical & Laboratory Services

Mr. Lawrence has over 32 years of experience with small and large corporations that perform environmental engineering, radiological, emergency response and information technology services to Federal and commercial clients. In his role of Vice President, Mr. Lawrence manages 4 subsidiaries within the ARS portfolio. For the past 17 years, he has served in executive level positions where he designed, implemented, and managed the corporate strategy for five separate corporations, resulting in over 400% growth (total of $45M to $180M per year) when combined over a three to five-year period. This included the management and operation of over 200 personnel in 10 divisions and 10 populated and unpopulated limited liability corporations (LLCs). At the program level, Mr. Lawrence has captured, managed or been involved as a subject matter expert with more than $600M of remediation, decontamination/decommissioning, emergency response and information technology projects.
