ARS has provided NORM training services to the oil and gas industry since 1993.

We offer a variety of training courses. You can select and register for one of our scheduled classes below. We can also design and instruct site specific training to meet any need you may have.

40-Hour
NORM Radiation Safety Officer

This fast-paced course is intended to provide those new to the role of Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) with the tools necessary to succeed in the role. Cost: $1,465 per student
The 40 Hour NORM RSO Course will be held at the Drury Inn and Suites in Baton Rouge, LA. This client-focused hotel offers guests easy access to Interstate 10 and is convenient to the Baton Rouge airport, shopping, and is only 50 minutes from New Orleans. The Drury provides both their complementary hot breakfast and the evening “Kickback” with light dinner fare and cocktails. A block of rooms has been reserved for attendees. Class time is 8:00am to approximately 5:00pm. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Drury Inn for attendees. A one hour lunch break will be taken daily. There are numerous fast food options in the area. Coffee and refreshments will be provided. Class size is limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis based on the date the course payment was received.

NORM Radiation Safety Officer Refresher Course

This course is intended to refresh the NORM RSO on the various responsibilities associated with the position. The course uses a combination of lecture and hand-on exercises to cover regulations, limits, dosimetry, personnel protection, survey techniques and methods, recordkeeping, licensing, and waste disposal. A written and practical factors exam is given.

Cost: $465 per student

Eight (8) hour courses will be held in Port Allen, LA at the West Baton Rouge Conference Center. The West Baton Rouge Conference Center is one of the newest and most modern meeting facilities in the Baton Rouge area. This state of the art facility is conveniently located on Interstate 10 with plenty of free parking and access to all points east and west. The Conference Center is located at:

Class time is 8:00am to approximately 5:00pm. A one hour lunch break will be taken. Lunch will be on your own. Class size is limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis based on the date the course payment was received.

8-Hour
NORM Surveyor Course

This fast-paced course is accepted by the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) and the Texas Department of State Health Services, Bureau of Radiation Control. This course includes a combination of lecture and hands-on exercises to provide instruction in the hazards associated with NORM, personnel protection, regulatory limits, the proper use of survey instruments, and recordkeeping. A written and practical factors exam is given.

Cost: $465 per student

Payment and Cancellation Policy

Payment is due in full before the start date of the course. Class size is limited and is based on a “first come” basis with regards to the date the course payment was received. Payments may be made via check or credit cards. Checks and credit card payments should be made to ARS International, LLC. Credit cards will be charged the full amount upon receipt of the credit card billing information. Checks shall be cashed upon receipt. If you are unable to attend a course, you have the option to send a replacement or to transfer to a future course held within one year.

Payment and Cancellation Policy

If a course is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, you will be notified by phone or email at least three weeks prior to the start of the course.
